Located in central Campbelltown, this advanced cancer treatment centre was created through the adaptive reuse of a former bank. The project included the demolition of the existing bank vault and installation of a custom-built concrete bunker to house a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machine. Complex works involved removing part of the second-floor slab, installing a 2-metre thick concrete lid, and constructing 1-metre thick radiation-rated walls. With restricted access on a public thoroughfare, cranage and roof deconstruction were required. The facility also includes a CT room, chemotherapy bays, consultation rooms, patient lift, and future-flexible spaces—all within a calm, patient-focused environment.
This project was the winner of the NSW MBA Excellence in Construction Award in 2024 in the Adaptive Reuse Category.
