Stage 4 of the School’s campus development consists of a pavilion with amenities and equipment storage, and multi-format sports courts. The building is connected to the Stage 2 Playing Fields and at the edge of the existing carpark and nature reserve.
The site required remediation and sewer diversion as well as extensive groundworks, bulk and detailed excavation. To support the courts and pavilion on the sloping site, retaining walls (including geotextile fabric) were built using large sandstone blocks. The steel framed pavilion contains toilets and storage rooms for equipment and drinking fountains and will provide shelter for the kids on hot days. Acoustic screens were built around the courts’ edge to provide noise reduction for the surrounding residential neighbours.
This project was completed while the school remained operational with no impact on the school’s activities and the flora and fauna of the adjacent Coups Creek.
