HPAC has delivered two new projects for the Wahroonga Adventist School including;

  • Construction of new classrooms and laboratories
  • Construction of the new sporting complex (Stages 2 and 4)
Classrooms and Laboratories

This project involved the construction of new modular classrooms and laboratories to accommodate the students while the new larger junior school was being built. Working in a live school environment required careful planning to minimize disruption to staff and students, HPAC were also required to provide new infrastructure and services connections from the school to the new buildings. Careful planning regarding services shutdowns and services connections reduced disruption to staff and students, enabling the school to remain fully operational at all times.

The modular buildings contained new classrooms, science rooms, laboratories, and a Design & Technology workshop.

Following the completion of the new teaching facility, HPAC were asked to relocate the classrooms to another campus at Macarthur which was successfully completed in February 2017.

Playing Fields (Stage 2)

Engaged on an ECI basis, we deliver this stage of the campus development plan involving the construction of playing fields and preparation of the site for Stage 4 pavilion and sports courts.

With the project initially over budget, HPAC worked closely with the consultants, client, and superintendent on redesigning/re-engineering the retaining wall system and hydraulic drainage design.   To offset latent conditions discovered on the site, HPAC worked closely with the project team to re-design the lighting system, the structural design of pavilion slab and sports courts to ensure further cost savings were found.

Construction of the fields, involved excavation and levelling of the sloping site and placement of sandstone retaining walls to support the fields and future pavilion and courts.  Ball control fencing was installed surrounding the fields as well as pole lighting and connections to the main switchboard.

Stormwater drainage including dispersion trenches was installed alongside irrigation to the playing fields to support seasonal care of the site.  Access ramps were built to allow access to the future pavilion and sports courts (completed 2020).
